Lt. Bolin’s presentation on First Responder mental health is one of the sincerest and most moving discussions I’ve witnessed. His open and honest discussion about his own mental health struggles reaches a personal level that most clinicians cannot achieve. The experiences that Tommy shared helped me understand many of the issues that I have faced in my past. Every first responder, from the newest recruit to the seasoned veteran, should hear this story.

Fire Chief, Central Township Joint Fire District

Crews from the Central Townships Joint Fire District, Madison County Emergency Medical District and the City of London Division of Fire attended “Sounding the Alarm on Mental Health” presented by Lieutenant Thomas Bolin – Norwich Township Fire at the Madison County EMA – Ohio.

Lieutenant Bolin presented a heartfelt and very personal presentation on Mental Health and Firefighter Suicide awareness to 34 first responders at this training. The presentation was an eye opener for our younger employees and a reminder to all of the old timers that none of us struggle alone. If you ever have the opportunity to see this presentation in person, I highly advise it that you do.
